The Yorktown Wildcats wasted little time putting points on the board Friday night against the Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats. Quarterback Brody Metting punched in a one-yard run to open the scoring at the 9:38 mark of the first quarter, though the kick failed, leaving the score 6-0.
Just three minutes later, Metting connected with Brayden Knostman on a 20-yard strike, extending the lead to 13-0 after Adam Serbin’s extra point.
The Bobcats answered with a 14-yard run with 2:30 remaining in the quarter, trimming the score to 13-6.
