It seems the older I get the more I realize the end of time is at hand. Maybe it is just for me but over the seven decades I have been alive I have seen and heard of the many Bible prophecies being fulfilled. I read with interest what the Bible has to say about the end times, and I wonder just how long God is going to allow this sinful world to continue.
For me and my generation it may not be long, but I continually worry about my children, my grandchildren, and my future great grandchildren. What does the future hold for them? As I look back over my lifetime and I see the changes made and the inventions that have come about, I ask myself what else will God allow until He says enough is enough. I am not saying that new things and inventions are not good because life is much easier than it has been in the past. My point is that the world is changing, our nation is changing, and the more days we have the more our country is turning away from God, our Creator, and putting faith in other things.
I am a person who does not have a good singing voice, but I love gospel music. One of my favorite songs is “The Midnight Cry” written by Greg and Chuck Day. The words came to them one Sunday afternoon after church. The sermon title that morning was “The Midnight Cry”.
Even though Greg had been told many years before, when he was seven years old, that he would write many songs, he lost that thought until when he was in his 20s and gone through a rough life. The sermon that morning provided inspiration for he and his brother to write this extremely popular song that has been recorded by many, many people. The message is clear and something we should all think about. Read some of the lyrics and then think about the situation that we are facing every day of our life and the direction our nation is headed.
I hear the sound of a mighty rushing wind, and it’s closer now than it’s ever been,I can almost hear the trumpet, as Gabriel sounds the call; At the midnight cry, we’ll be going home!I look around me; I see prophecies fulfilled everywhere; The signs of the times they’re appearing everywhereOh, I can almost see the Father as He says, “Son, go get my childrenAt the midnight cry the Bride of Christ will rise,When Jesus steps out on a cloud to call His children The dead in Christ shall rise to meet Him in the air and it’s closer now that it’s ever beenAnd then those that remain shall be quickly changed; At the midnight cry we’ll be going homeI look around me; I see prophecies fulfilled everywhere; The signs of the times, they’re appearing everywhereI can almost see the Father as He says, Son, go get my childrenOh, at the midnight cry, the Bride of Christ will rise!
“Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of man is coming.” Matthew 25:13 NKJV Will you be ready when Jesus comes again? Do you know Him personally? If not pray to accept Him into you heart today. He is waiting to receive you unto Him. Do not get tied up in the world of today because it is being led astray by many, many deceivers.
Prayer: Lord God I love you and thank you for being with me each day. I pray that I can be a witness for you to help someone understand your love and saving grace. Amen.
