A Message from the Mayor

Hello my fellow Cueroites On Sept. 13, I welcomed congressional candidate for District 15, Mr. Bobby Pulido to Cuero.

Due to the new Texas re-districting, Cuero will move from District 27 (Michael Cloud) to whoever is elected between incumbent Monica De La Cruz-R, and any challenger in 2026. Quick disclaimer, as your Mayor, I represent all the citizens of Cuero, therefore I am non-partisan, and I will not endorse any candidate. I urge each registered voter to let your voice be heard and vote!

On Sept. 15, Landon Crain, 2025 Boys State participant thanked the American Legion Dinter Post #3 for the opportunity to attend. I attended the 3rd Comprehensive plan zoom call on Sept. 18, a public hearing on a draft copy of the plan is in November, please attend the public hearing and review the plan objectives for Cuero, the plan covers a 15 to 20year period. Your input is welcomed.

The first of three meetings on Sept. 23 was the organizational meeting for the 2nd Ruby’s Race Day free Pancake and Taco breakfast on Turkeyfest parade morning, Saturday, Oct. 10 from 7:30 a.m.until 10:30 a.m. in the downtown walkway. Meeting number 2 was with Ms. Jennifer Wilson, the new Activity Director for the Cuero Nursing and Rehabilitation center, we discussed The Center’s planned Veteran’s Day events.

The final meeting of the day was the Mayor’s Youth Council for the 2025-2026 term, and elections for President, Vice President, Secretary and Communications Officer were held. I am so excited to have a mix of High School Seniors and Juniors this year.

On Sept. 24, I delivered welcome remarks for the Chamber of Commerce 2025 Women in Business Luncheon featuring a Keynote speaker and a dynamic lineup of women panelists sharing real insights on leadership, entrepreneurship, and career growth. This year there was a total of 113 folks registered. Shout out to Angela Cuellar, Chamber Executive Director and her team for hosting the event.

New sidewalks along Heaton Street are being formed and poured, by TXDOT. Many city streets, which have been under construction, new gutters and paving have been completed on the southside of Cuero. The Cuero Gobblers football team is undefeated at 50 with a win against the Belton Tigers this past Friday, way to go Gentlemen!!
