Mini-Cheer Camp
CHS Mini-Cheer Camp will be held August 24 at the CHS gym (Roost) for grades PreK4 through 6th. Campers will learn cheers, a dance, jumps, stunts and have a lot of FUN!! Camp will be held from 9 a.m.- noon.
Doors open at 8:15 a.m. for pictures with Toby, and the parent showcase will begin at noon. Registration cost is $40 per child and $30 per additional siblings.

Annual Wildlife Management Meeting
Western DeWitt Wildlife Management Association will hold its annual meeting at The Nordheim Shooting Club on Aug 24. Registration 11 a.m., meal at noon. Big buck contest registration along with registration for management tags and a photo contest. Lease license information needs to be sent to Spence PRIOR to AUG 24.

KidsFIRST Launch
First Baptist Church will begin a new year of Kids-FIRST on Wednesday, August 28th. Every Wednesday evening during the school year, we offer free supper, worship time, Bible stories, music, and games for ages pre-K 4 through Grade 6. Older children will explore the New Testament 'Text Messages ' from Jesus .Younger children learn from the Beginner's Bible Curriculum. TPA Breakfast
The Travelers Protection Association (TPA) will have its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 8:30 a.m. at Bahnhof Cafe, 213 W. Main, in Cuero. All members and prospective members are encouraged to attend and enjoy breakfast and fellowship with the group.
Grief Share Program
The Grief Share Program is being offered here in Yorktown at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
The Fall Sessions will begin on Tuesday, September 3, and be held each Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8 p.m. through November 12. A Day in The Country
On Saturday, Sept. 14, Weesatche 4 Warriors is honoring active duty military, veterans, wounded warriors, first responders and families in memory of lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001.
The event starts with a 10 a.m. opening ceremony and continues with a chuck wagon lunch, family fun activities and live entertainment until 2 p.m. at the Weesatche Community Center, 161 E. FM 884, in Goliad.
Trivia Night
Bring your friends and brain power for an unforgettable night of trivia, benefitting the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund. Fall Sausage Feast
The Lindenau Rifle Club’s Annual Fall Sausage Feast will be held Sunday, Sept. 15, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are only $15 each. Meal consists of sausage, German potatoes, stuffed cabbage, and pinto beans. Plates are Drive Through Only at the eating stand. Tickets can be purchased at Security Storage, 115 E. S. Railroad, the DeWitt county Co-op, and Anders Auto Supply, or from any Lindenau Rifle Club member, through Friday, Sept. 133 at 1 p.m. To pre-order Fresh Sausage by the pound, while supplies lists, call Curtis Koenig at 361-5648148. Murder at the Masquerade
A masquerade murder mystery dinner event to benefit the Friends of DeWitt County Children will be held Saturday, Sept. 28, at 6 p.m. at The Venue on Church Street in Cuero.

EMS 35 Year Celebration
Yorktown EMS is proud to be celebrating 35 years of serving our community and surrounding areas. To celebrate this honor, plans are underway for a Family Fun Filled Day on Saturday, November 9, starting at 4 p.m. at Yorktown Community Hall.
Activities of the day include a bounce house for the kids, putt putt golf, a cornhole tournament, silent auction, and BBQ plates. Then DANCE the night away with Chris Gonzales and The Rekkers from 7-11 p.m.

Cuero VFW Post 3972 has resumed weekly games of Bingo at the Post Home.

Child Find Evaluations
School districts must ensure that a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) is provided for children who are identified as needing special education and related services.
Child Find is a process to identify, locate, and evaluate individuals from birth to 21 years of age who may need special education and related services. Evaluations for Cuero, Meyersville, Nursery and Westhoff ISD’s are available through Child Find. Early childhood intervention programs serve children with developmental delays and their families. Eligibility is determined through a team assessment by program staff.
