GOD first...Heavenly Father, we ask for strength for the many things we need to do, faith to lead others in Your direction, and in fellowship with others to share in Your Amazing Grace showing the magic of your Holy Spirit. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Pray for those who are grieving, ill, suffering, or are in harm’s way.
Joke second….Charlie was on a bus quietly gazing the scenery through the window when a woman sitting next to him began trying to breast feed her baby who wasn’t cooperating. The woman was trying to coax the child saying, “Come on sweetheart, drink up or I’ll have to give it to this man sitting next to us.” Charlie awkwardly pretended not to hear though his face turned red as a beet. Five minutes passed and the baby still wouldn’t feed. The woman sighed and repeated, “Come on little one. If you don’t take it, this kind man is going to get it.” By now, Charlie is sweating bullets trying not to look at the baby or it’s mother. Finally, after a few minutes, he couldn’t take it any longer. He turned and faced the baby, “Kid, make up your damn mind already! I should have gotten off this bus 3 stops ago!

There are many of us who suspected something like this as activities had already slowed down. We are hoping that these properties are sold to interested individuals that will eventually move in and use them for the benefit of the future owners and community. All the properties are located on paved roads, three have their own water wells and sewer facilities and one is in town with city facilities. They are located within 80 miles of San Antonio, 110 miles from Corpus Christi, and 149 Miles from Houston. With cities growing so fast, it shouldn’t take long to gain interest in these locations. I try to remain optimistic and hope to see how it works out.
This past weekend, starting Friday, Roberta and I went to Kerrville to visit Pastor Jonathan (our past pastor) after I went to Cuero Recreatoin Center early in the morning. We stayed at the Parish House next to the Lutheran Church where he is pastor. The accommodations were great with five bedrooms where we stayed for Friday and Saturday nights. We listened to several German bands and visited the Nimitz Museum and toured the town. Sunday, we went to the Lutheran Church to listen Pastor J’s sermon. That man can preach the feathers off a duck! We were introduced to the congregation and spent time with them before returning to Nordheim that evening.
Then on Monday morning, I went to the Recreation Center in Cuero for exercise, then Roberta and I went to Galveston Island Convention Center for Tuesday’s Special Luncheon for Past Presidents of the State of Texas Association of County Judges and Commissioners given by Allison, Bass, Magee, LLP. Each year, for 40 years, past presidents have been honored this way. I was president of the association in 2005-2006. Also at the meeting was Victoria County Judge Ben Zeller (also a past president in 2019) and the Editor and Publisher of the Texas County Progress Monthly Magazine that covers the entire state with articles important to all counties. After the meal, pictures were taken and Roberta and I went back home.
Then on Saturday, I went to the Runge High School Flyback Reunion at the Nordheim Shooting Club Hall to see if there were still any classmates living of the 1953 graduating class. There were only three of us out of 16 that managed to appear. Wasn’t many that were around anymore. See you next week.
