A puppy recently adopted from Pet Adoptions of Cuero was the “star” of his own book launch this week.
A fluffly Morkie-poo named Raisin was so loved and so cherished that his owner created his life story to date in an impressive full scale first class book that she self authored and self illustrated. It is now a published book available thru Amazon.
The pup and author decided to introduce Raisin’s story at the Yorktown Library during their weekly Toddler Time children’s reading and crafts event.
The author and illustrator, Marsha Edmands, arrived with Raisin in tow along with custom created raisin treat boxes. Each box featured Raisin’s photo and name.
The easy to read book is a wonderful children’s (and adults too) story of the adoption process. It’s a perfect example of how every family would go about bringing a new pet into their household, especially one from a rescue type shelter.
The book can be ordered after Oct. 10 on Amazon under the full title: Raisin, the Last Chosen Puppy by Marsha Edmands. Proceeds from the book sales will be awarded to the shelter.
An announcement will be posted next time Raisin is in town. Plan to bring your copy of his fun to read adoption story and Raisin will gladly pawograph it for you.
In the meantime, come pick your own pet deserving of his or her unique adoption story. The shelter is open every day of the year from 8 am till 12 noon at 407 US Highway 183 South, Cuero. For more info: 361-243-8550.
