Aaron Lee Sellers, 37, died from a stabbing wound in the front yard of a residence in the 600 block of Kraege St. in Yorktown Monday, Sept. 22, about 1 a.m., according to a press release from the DeWitt County Sheriff’s Office.
Another Yorktown man, Santana Cruz Ureste, 27, was arrested and charged with murder in connection with Sellers’ death. DeWitt County Sheriff’s Office deputies acting on information obtained from witnesses at the scene searched for Ureste and found him behind a business on West Main St.
Ureste was taken into custody without incident and booked into the DeWitt County Jail on a murder charge.
Deputies went to the scene after receiving a report of a stabbing and found Sellers unresponsive. He was declared dead at the scene.
The two men were acquainted, but a motive is still under investigation, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Bethany Hobbs said.
