Lady Gobblers defeat San Antonio Kennedy

The Lady Gobblers took on San Antonio Kennedy, commanding a 3-set win sweep, finishing the match with scores of 25-15, 25-20, and 25-12 on Friday, Oct. 10.

In the world of high school volleyball, every match offers a fresh opportunity, and the Cuero Lady Gobblers are no strangers to this fierce competition. Recently, the team faced a tough match against Navarro that put their camaraderie to the test.

Despite their best efforts, the Lady Gobblers came away with a hard-fought loss, contributing to a challenging finish of round one of their district campaign. The final score read 14-25, 19-25, 26-24, 20-25 The defeat placed Cuero in a respectable third place after the first round of district play, but the team was determined not to let this setback define their season. When the dust settled, the Lady Gobblers turned their energies toward their next match – determined to bounce back stronger.

And bounce back they did. Last week, the Cuero Lady Gobblers returned to the court with renewed vigor. Fans and coaches alike were eager to see if the team could regroup and showcase the skills that had earned them a spot in this competitive district.

With an impressive performance, the Lady Gobblers achieved a commanding 3-set sweep, This win was not just vital for their morale; it solidified their standing, bringing their overall winning record to 20-19, and 4-2 in district play.

On Tuesday, they will hit the road to face Gonzales. This matchup will be critical as they aim to climb the district rankings further. The atmosphere will be charged with anticipation, as both teams are keen to secure a victory.

Looking further ahead, Cuero will return home for what promises to be an emotionally charged match against San Antonio Memorial on Friday.
