After a convincing 56–0 victory over Charlotte in last year’s matchup, the Yorktown Wildcats look to keep their strong season going as they host the Trojans this week.
Yorktown enters the game 4–1 after returning from a twoweek bye and earning a dominant districtopening win over Pettus.
The Wildcats’ offense is powered by a physical offensive line that creates big opportunities for leading rusher Brody Metting, who consistently drives Yorktown’s ground attack. In the air, quarterback connections with Brayden Knostman continue to deliver results. Knostman leads the team with 44.5 receiving yards per game.
Defensively, Yorktown is anchored by Adam Serbin, who leads the team with 10.7 tackles per game, backed by Bryce Chandler (8.8) and Knostman (7.0). Their physicality and discipline have helped the Wildcats control games on both sides of the ball.
Charlotte enters the matchup at 3–3. The Trojans opened the season with back-toback wins over SAC (57–14) and Woodsboro (28–12), followed by a forfeit win over Compass Rose Legacy. Their losses came to Centerpoint (21–48), St. Anthony (28–40), and powerhouse Shiner in last week’s district opener. Defensively, Charlotte relies on linebacker Anthony Sanches, who averages 10.5 tackles per game, while senior Julian Cruz leads the offense with 143.5 rushing yards per contest.
Yorktown’s experience, balance, and strong line play give the Wildcats the edge heading into Friday’s district showdown.
