I survived my 66th birthday celebration on Saturday, Oct 18th, Daughter #2 turned 41, she was my 25th birthday present, the best present ever. Thank you to all who phoned. texted birthday wishes.
On Oct 14th, local elected leaders met with the newly assigned Department of Public Safety (DPS) Capt. over the Cuero area at 8:30 a.m., the Emergency Management office coordinated the meeting, better to meet under calm conditions, than when a crisis is transpiring. At 11:00 am, US Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz and her staff met with City staff and were provided with a brief tour of Cuero’s downtown area, lunch at the Cuero Pecan House Café, a quick tour of the Pecan House and off to Gonzales. I finished the day by attending the Cuero Museum Board meeting at 5:30 pm, please visit Cuero’s outstanding museums. Today Oct 20th, the American Legion Dinter Post #3 will host their monthly meeting, the post members are currently selling tickets for its annual fundraiser, a whole barbeque chicken, the money raise provides funds for the year’s project’s please contact any Legion member for a ticket. Details on the fundraiser will be provided next week. The Mayor’s Youth Council will meet tomorrow Oct 21st at 4:00 pm in Council chambers, plans for the December 11th, hot chocolate distribution during Christmas in the Park will be finalized, please come by and meet and take photos with the Youth Council. Cuero Citizen’s Emilio and Tru Trevino have grown their Halloween display on 312 Schleicher Street, bring the kids on by for a treat, thle Trevino’s put in countless hours each year for your entertainment, thank you, Emilio and Tru and Family. The Cuero Gobblers are now 71, by defeating the undefeated Sinton Pirate’s on Friday, Oct 17th, Never quit Gentlemen, well done!!!
