The Wildcats are preparing for a key district matchup this week against the Louise Hornets (1-5) Friday, Oct. 24.
While Louise has faced a tough season, with losses to Flatonia (44-0), Sacred Heart (62-8), Danbury (20-8), Bloomington (28-20), and Falls City (48-8), they did pick up a 45-8 win over Woodsboro. According to Dave Campbellās High School Football Magazine, Louise is predicted to finish fourth in the district, while Yorktown is expected to hold third.
Under first-year head coach Cameron Murrah, Louise is still adjusting this season after going 4-7 overall and 2-3 in district play last year. Senior standout Eric Melchor has been a bright spot, leading the team in receiving (14.8 yards per game), rushing (64.2 yards per game), and touchdowns. He also ranks second in defensive tackles, behind Tanner Lott (4.8
