Free Spay/Neuter Bonanza for DeWitt County residents

Yes- it is FREE to have a cat, kitten, dog, and puppy, neutered/ spayed during the joint sponsorship program of PET ADOPTIONS OF CUERO and FOR TUNA, INC. FOR TUNA is a local nonprofit organization program created by Joshua Everette and Emilie Pena. The two organizations are stepping up again to help control the overpopulation of pets and stray cats and dogs on the streets. Residents of DeWitt County can stop by Pet Adoptions of Cuero and check out the available adoptable animals and register for a FREE voucher to spay their pet or stray dogs and cats in their neighborhood.

All the procedures will be done at Adopta- Pet Victoria located across from Victoria airport. They perform surgeries most days of the week, so it is easy to get a convenient appointment. Kittens will need to weigh about 3-4 pounds and female puppies need to be 5 to 6 months old. All animals will need to be in separate carriers or cages and dropped off between 7:30-8:30 a.m. the morning of their appointment.

Golden Crescent Feline Group headed by Diana Pappas is also helping out and will be able to transport some of the pets that do not have a way to Victoria. Emilie Pena with FOR TUNA will also help transport animals located in Nordheim to Victoria for those unable to make the drive. The three groups are hoping this spay “Nest Egg” of funds will result in up to 100 pets being sterilized - and once done, would save almost 3,000 cats and dogs from being born in DeWitt County in the next 3 years.
