Yorktown Kitty Kats shine with district volleyball awards
Pictured are Palyn Koopman, Claire Person, Gracie Stehling, and Hayle Russell. Koopmann was named 2025 Setter of the Year and Person, Stehling, and Russell received First Team All District honors. The Yorktown Kitty Kat volleyball team wrapped up an impressive season competing in Conference 2A, District 28, alongside Bloomington, Falls City, Kenedy, Pettus, and Yorktown. It was a competitive season, with Falls City claiming the district championship and Kenedy and Yorktown tying for runner-up honors. The Kitty Kats advanced to the Bi-District Playoffs, where they faced Schulenburg. Though Yorktown fell short, the team’s hard work, teamwork, and determination did not go unnoticed. Several Kitty Kat athletes were recognized for their outstanding performances throughout the season. Palyn Koopmann earned the title of Setter of the Year, while Hayle Russell, Claire Person, and Gracie Stehling were named to the First Team All-District. Carysn Brown, Avery Martin, and Lorelai

Gowens received Second Team All-District honors. Carly Weischwill and Trinity Flores were named Honorable Mention All-District for their contributions on the court.
