200th Anniversary of Green DeWitt Colony
DeWitt County Historical Commission will commemorate the 200th anniversary of Green DeWitt Colony by remembering the lives of some of the original colonists in a program featuring music by Tejas Pioneers at the Cuero Intermediate Cafeteria at 502 Park Heights Drive in Cuero Sunday, Nov. 16.
Cactus Country at Gruenau Hall
Cactus Country will be playing Gruenau Hall Nov. 16. Doors will open at 1:00 p.m., and dancing will be from 2 to 6 p.m. It’s $10 a person with 12 years and under free.
Texas Arbor Day Dedication
The Cuero Tree Board in conjunction with Texas Arbor Day will be dedicating two benches overlooking the 70 trees that were planted this spring. The benches are located in the Cuero Municipal Park along the walking trail behind the Little League fields where walkers can relax and enjoy the beauty of the grove of trees. The program is at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov 21. Texas A&M Forestry Service will give a short program on Texas Arbor Day.
Yorktown Fall Festival
The Yorktown Fall Festival will be held Sunday, Nov. 23, in the afternoon and evening at Yorktown City Park from 4 to 5:30 p.m. An outdoor movie will start at 5:30 p.m.

Woodman Cemetery Association A Revitalizing Woodman Cemetery Community Worship and Praise Service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 30, at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church at 400 Grant St. in Cuero at 11 a.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Eddie Ellis, Adams Chapel AME Church, of Harker Heights. There will be a service full of spiritual singing, the Word and much more. Cuero VFW Post 3972 has resumed weekly games of Bingo at the Post Home.

Child Find Evaluations
School Districts must ensure that a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) is provided for children who are identified as needing special education and related services. Child Find is a process to identify, locate and evaluate individuals from birth to 21 years of age who may need special education and related services. Evaluations for Cuero, Meyersville, Nursery and Westhoff ISD are available through Child Find. Early childhood intervention programs serve children with developmental delays and their families. Child Screening Services
Residents of Yorktown, are you aware of a child with problems walking, seeing, moving or thinking? Free screening services are available for children from birth through five years of age.
