With the holiday coming up this week, the staff at the non profit shelter Pet Adoptions of Cuero has so many groups, organizations, businesses and individuals to thank, again and again.
PAOC is celebrating its 14th year of self sustained successful operations. This is only possible by the never ending support of the communities in and around Dewitt County.
The rescue shelter’s documented records of taking in anywhere from 380 to 420 homeless pets per year for the last 5 years. It proves that good people keep coming together to help the independent facility thrive and make a difference.
PAOC is blessed to have 100 percent volunteer management and direction from it’s officers who oversee all facets of the operations. From day one PAOC does all it can to accept abandoned dogs and cats, strays, runaways, abused, injured and dumped pets.
All intakes are vetted immediately, microchipped, treated for fleas and parasites, bathed, spayed or neutered at maturity, walked, exercised and socialized — all in the hope of giving them a second chance for their forever home.
Yes, this takes funds, lots of funds but wonderfully the community steps up. From children hosting lemonade stands; selling bracelets; doing penny drives to civic groups designating small grants; to memorials in honor of the departed. PAOC is overwhelmed, grateful and so thankful for this amazing concern and support. In addition PAOC is thankful for a roster of over 10,000 social media followers checking out its Facebook page, liking, sharing and reposting to continue to spread the word that this is one awesome pet adoption and rehoming facility right here in Dewitt Co.
PAOC is truly thankful and blessed every day of the year but especially proud when a homeless or previously unwanted pet is adopted and leaves for their forever home.
