Fire destroys home in Cuero

A fire that started in a shed spread to a residence, destroying both in the 2200 block of Tulley Road Wednesday, Nov. 12, about 9:30 p.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the DeWitt County Sheriff’s Office, according to the Cuero Fire Department. There were no injuries, but the structures suffered total loss.

Firefighters faced delayed access to the residence due to a large tree and overhanging branches at the driveway entrance.

The Cuero Fire Department and the Cuero Volunteer Fire Department responded to the alarm. Assisting with the call was De- Witt County Office of Emergency Man-agement and Floodplain Administration for aid, DeWitt County Precinct 1 for water, and GVEC provided electricity services.

Residents received assistance from the American Red Cross.
