KidsFIRST Launch First Baptist Church will begin a new year of Kids-FIRST on Wednesday, August 28th. Every Wednesday evening during the school year, we offer free supper, worship time, Bible stories, music, and games for ages pre-K 4 through Grade 6.

TPA Breakfast

The Travelers Protection Association (TPA) will have its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 8:30 a.m. at Bahnhof Cafe, 213 W. Main, in Cuero. All members and prospective members are encouraged to attend and enjoy breakfast and fellowship with the group.

Westhoff Grand Opening

The grand opening of the old Home State Bank building in Westhoff, renovated by the late Deborah Boros, is set for Thursday, Sept.

5, from noon to 7 p.m. at 15 Houston Avenue. Now the home of BrandX Land & Ranch as well as Bar-Hil Ranches, a come-and-go reception will showcase the indelible style of Deborah.

Refreshments will be offered as well as hourly “swag” drawings for those who “like” BrandX on Facebook.

Grief Share Program The Grief Share Program is being offered here in Yorktown at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

The Fall Sessions will begin on Tuesday, September 3, and be held each Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8 p.m. through November 12. Hunter Education Class

Saturday Night Fever – Babe and Bubba Bingo

SNYPD (Spay Neuter Your Pet DeWitt) hosts its Babe and Bubba Bingo with a Saturday Night Fever theme on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 5-11 p.m. at the Anne Friar Thomas Homemaking Building, 501 Martin Luther King Drive, Cuero. A Day in The Country On Saturday, Sept. 14, Weesatche 4 Warriors is honoring active duty military, veterans, wounded warriors, first responders and families in memory of lives lost on Sept.

11, 2001. The event starts with a 10 a.m. opening ceremony and continues with a chuck wagon lunch, family fun activities and live entertainment until 2 p.m. at the Weesatche Community Center, 161 E. FM 884, in Goliad.

Bake Sale for Veterans On Saturday, September 14th, the Weesatche Hermann Sons will hold a bake sale at the Weesatche 4 Warriors Event held at the Weesatche Community Center beginning at 10 AM. All proceeds will benefit local veteran and first responder groups. In addition, the home office of Hermann Sons Life will provide matching funds. All are invited to come enjoy a fun day in the country and help us honor our military, veterans, and first responders.

Trivia Night

Fall Sausage Feast

The Lindenau Rifle Club’s Annual Fall Sausage Feast will be held Sunday, Sept. 15, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are only $15 each.

Meal consists of sausage, German potatoes, stuffed cabbage, and pinto beans. Plates are Drive Through Only at the eating stand. Tickets can be purchased at Security Storage, 115 E. S. Railroad, the DeWitt county Co-op, and Anders Auto Supply, or from any Lindenau Rifle Club member, through Friday, Sept. 133 at 1 p.m. To pre-order Fresh Sausage by the pound, while supplies lists, call Curtis Koenig at 361-5648148. Fresh sausage will be picked up at the dance hall from 11 a.m.to 1 p.m.

50th Anniversary Celebration

Cuero High School graduates and families are invited to honor the 1974 Back-to-Back State Championship team, Friday, Sept. 20, 4-6 p.m. at the school cafeteria. Pre-game introduction of players and coaches at 6 p.m. If you EVER went to state, come celebrate!

A masquerade murder mystery dinner event to benefit the Friends of DeWitt County Children will be held Saturday, Sept. 28, at 6 p.m. at The Venue on Church Street in Cuero.

The Cuero Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the 2024 Women in Business Luncheon, a premier event designed to celebrate and empower local businesswomen. EMS 35 Year Celebration Yorktown EMS is proud to be celebrating 35 years of serving our community and surrounding areas. To celebrate this honor, plans are underway for a Family Fun Filled Day on Saturday, November 9, starting at 4 p.m. at Yorktown Community Hall. Activities of the day include a bounce house for the kids, putt putt golf, a cornhole tournament, silent auction, and BBQ plates. Cuero VFW Bingo

Cuero VFW Post 3972 has resumed weekly games of Bingo at the Post Home.

Games will begin at 7:30 p.m. Proceeds of these games benefit local charities, youth, and veterans in need. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Child Find Evaluations School districts must ensure that a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) is provided for children who are identified as needing special education and related services. Meals on Wheels Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed to help deliver meals in the central DeWitt County area for Meals on Wheels South Texas. Meals are delivered once a week on Wednesdays from about 11 a.m. to noon. If you are interested in volunteering you can go to mowstx.org or email [email protected].
