Hello my fellow Cueroites: Congratulations to our Cuero Gobblers, who defeated the Rockport-Fulton Pirates on Friday night. The Gobblers go on to play the Sinton Pirates this Friday Dec 5 in San Antonio. The game is set for 7 p.m. at Heros Stadium. Please support the team by making the trip if possible.
On Nov. 21 two park benches were dedicated to supporters of the tree planting this past March in the park. Repsol Energy, who donated the trees and former Mayor Sarah Post Meyer, a huge supporter of Keep Cuero Beautiful, had benches dedicated to them.
The Ribbon cutting for this year’s Christmas in the Park was held on Monday, Nov. 24, approximately 600-plus folks attended the event, enjoying hot chocolate and cookies.
Shout out to Maggie Cromens and Samantha Solis from the Cuero Development Corporation and Angie Cuellar and Sarah Blain from the Cuero Chamber of Commerce for a huge success. On Nov. 25, the Downtown Christmas tree was lit for the first time, officially opening Christmas in the downtown area. Shout out to Sandra Osman, Mainstreet Director, please support our local businesses when possible.
On Thanksgiving Day, I and a few volunteers assisted in clean up duties at Our Lady of Guadalupe Hall. Isabel Patton said the 31st Let’s Stand Together Free Community Turkey dinner was a huge success, feeding 400plus individuals. Thank you, Ms. Patton. Have an awesome week! More to follow!
