A RTICLE Forty-two members of the Shiner Heritage Quilters Guild enjoyed a festive Christmas party at the Shiner Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
Wilma Williams and Brenda Fisseler chaired the event. Lisa Berckenhoff Catering from Hallettsville served a delicious meal of chicken parmesan, lasagna and sides including charred vegetables. Various scrumptious cakes and pies were served for dessert.
The tables were decorated with cups filled with candy for each member. A potted plant was placed in the center of each table, and these were given out as door prizes.
At the meeting Kathleen McBride was welcomed as a new member. Toni Rogers reminded everyone that there are 102 days left before our “Spring into Quilting” Show scheduled for March 20 and 21 at the Shiner KC Hall.
A highlight of the evening was the drawing to win groups of Christmas blocks sewn by members using selected fabrics. Margo Henderson chaired this event. A lively game of gift sharing followed. In the spirit of the holiday season, the guild gave a monetary gift to the Shiner Food Pantry at the Methodist Church.
The next meeting is on Jan. 6. For information log onto shinerheritagequil-ters. org, Visitors and new members are always welcome!
