Hey, it’s no secret dozens and dozens of dogs are at Pet Adoptions of Cuero and the Cuero City Animal Control Center. Yes, there are so many homeless dogs and cats all hoping for a forever home before 2025 ends and the really cold weather hits.
There are small dogs, medium size dogs, large dogs and puppies. We discourage surprise gifting of a dog as every adoption should be planned and committed to by the entire family or household. Visit either shelter to see the variety of breeds and ages.
Senior dogs are often overlooked but they really make the best pets for senior citizens or couples. Families with children can choose one of the younger canines because they need more exercise and activities.
Assigning a child to provide this for their pet is a win-win. It will get the kids out of the house for some physical activities and teach responsibility and dedication.
The Pet Adoptions of Cuero shelter has two large separated play areas to pretest/ visit with a potential pet. Plan on at least an hour’s visit to select the perfect potential pet for the family.
PAOC is open every day of the year from 8 a.m. until noon or call 361-243-8550 for a late afternoon adoption appointment. PAOC is on Cuero’s major highway at 407 US Highway 183 South. Adopters are welcome anytime from near or far to visit — no appointments needed.
The Cuero City shelter is located at 1797 FM 766 or call 361-210-9773 to visit Monday through Friday.
