First Presbyterian Church will host a Christmas Eve family worship service Wednesday, Dec. 24, at 6:30 p.m.. The message will be speak to all ages. We will close with Candle Light, singing of Silent Night.
Casino Night
FD Tavern is rolling out the tables for a night of fun, games, and great vibes, Saturday, Dec. 27, at 5 p.m. Hosted by the dynamic duo DJ Shane & Renee bringing the music, energy, and good times all night long. Cold drinks, great music, casino games with real prizes Yorktown Seniors and Friends Yorktown senior citizens and friends will meet at the Yorktown Fire Station at 11 a. m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30, for a holiday luncheon. The holidays can be a very lonely and stressful time of year. These days, it can be a real struggle to put food on the table. Life on the Trail
Visit the Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum to experience “Life on the Fence,” a compelling exhibition pairing fine art photography by Texas native Frank Klein with bronze wildlife sculptures by internationally acclaimed artist Kent Ullberg. The exhibition will run from Tuesday, hrough Tuesday, Dec. 30.
Catholic Daughter Scholarships
The Catholic Daughters #347 of St Michael’s are offering two $1,000 scholarships for two Cuero High Catholic seniors of Cuero St. Michael’s, OLG and Meyersville Catholic churches. Also, the Catholic Daughters have a state scholarship available. Applications are available at the Cuero High School counselor’s office. The state scholarship application is due Jan. 26 and local scholarships are due to St. Michael’s Church office by May 1, Applications should be filled out completely and all signatures filled in.
Tarmack Take Over Day
The streets meet the strip at Tarmac Takeover 2026, two days of free horse power, competition, and family friendly fun to spectators at Cuero Municipal Airport Friday and Saturday, Jan. 30-31. Grab some eats from food trucks, shop local vendors and experience the best builds iin the Crossroads.
Cuero Horse Show
Cuero Livestock Show will present a horse show at the Cuero Rodeo ArenaSaturday, Feb. 28, at 11 a.m. It is sponsored by the Cowboy Up 4-H Club and is open to the public Citywide Garage Sale Dowtown Cuero Main Street will host a citywide garage sale Saturday and Sunday, March 13-14. Residents will conduct garage sales at their homes, and there will be individuals selling Under the Library Pavilion on Saturday, March 13, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. City permits are waived for the event, and it will not count against the number of garage sales allowed per year. Register in person at the Main Street office.
Library/Crown Hospice Senior Social Hour
Crown Hospice is holding a Senior Social Hour at the Yorktown Public Library on the 1st Monday of every month. The social hour begins at 10 a.m. and is open to the public. Bingo, prizes and snacks are all provided free of charge. The hosts look forward to you attending.

Cuero VFW Post 3972 has resumed weekly games of Bingo at the Post Home. Games will begin at 7:30 p.m. Proceeds of these games benefit local charities, youth, and veterans in need. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Child Find Evaluations
School Districts must ensure that a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) is provided for children who are identified as needing special education and related services. Child Find is a process to identify, locate and evaluate individuals from birth to 21 years of age who may need special education and related services. Evaluations for Cuero, Meyersville, Nursery and Westhoff ISD are available through Child Find. Early childhood intervention programs serve children with developmental delays and their families. Child Screening Services
Residents of Yorktown, are you aware of a child with problems walking, seeing, moving or thinking? Free screening services are available for children from birth through five years of age. Call 361-564-2252 ext. 3002 for an appointment. Screening will be held at Yorktown Elementary School.

Meals on Wheels Volunteers Needed
Volunteers are needed to help deliver meals in the central DeWitt County area for Meals on Wheels South Texas. Meals are delivered once a week on Wednesdays from about 11 a.m. to noon. If you are interested in volunteering you can go to mowstx.org or email volunteer@ mowstx.org.
