RWOYA installs new ofcers
The Republican Women of Yoakum Areas political club installed the 2026 Board of Directors at a Christmas party attended by State Rep. A.J. Louderback at the Old Yoakum Bank Building Wednesday, Dec. 10. Louderback, of District 30, gave the oath of ofSce to the new board, and he presented a gavel to the 60-year-old club that he used as a committee chairman during the 89th Texas Legislature, and U.S. Congressman Michael Cloud sent a Special Congressional Recognition for 20 years service to RWOYA President Cheryl Thompson-Draper that coincided with her 75th birthday. The incoming executive committee and board includes: President- Cheryl Thompson Draper; 1st Vice President/Programs- Vicki Harvey Vickers; Treasurer- Marie Day; Secretary- Holly Heinsohn -Kropp; 2nd Vice President/Membership- Leslie Ahrens; Campaign Activities- Sandra Chandler; Legislative Chair- Jeannie Huff Seidel; Literacy/Education Chair- Laura Wauson; Social Media/Website Chair- Jamie Pearce;Hospitality Chair- Christina L. Cherry; Telephone Chair- Tammy Herchek; Sargeant at Arms- Cheryl Bates; and Chaplain-Linda ONeill. RWOYA represents Republican Conservative Women and associate members in three counties: DeWitt, Gonzales and Lavaca Counties.Included in the membership and associates are DeWitt GOP County Chair Jeannie Siedel; Gonzales County Republican Party County Chair- Liz Hernandez; and Lavaca County Republican Party County Chair- Lorena M. Kanak.
