**Doctors were meeting. The first one said, “I think accountants are the easiest to operate on. Everything inside is numbered.” The second doctor said, “I think librarians are the easiest. When you open them up all their organs are in alphabetically numbered.” The third said, “I prefer to operate on electricans. All their organs are color coded.” The fourth said, “I like to operate on lawyers. They’re heartless, spineless, gutless, and their heads and their behinds are interchangeable.”
The Nordheim ISD Education Foundation has made a milestone for Nordheim students that have recieved Scolarships and one student has set a high mark for others to follow. Brayden Jennings, a member of Class 2025, became the first student in school history to graduate with both a high school diploma and an Assciate of Arts degree. Through hard work, dedication, and rigorous academic schedule, Brayden completed his degree in just a year and a half...an agressive feat for any student and a first for our school. A key part of this success story was the continued support of the Nordheim Education Foundatiion, who’s generosity covered the cost of dual credit tuition for our students. Their investment in students’ futures opened doors to opportunities that were once out of reach in rural education. At this time, three students are actively working toward earning an Associate’s degree through the dual credit program. In addition, many other students are taking college courses to get a jumpstart on their postsecondary journey. Under the leadership of the President of the foundation, Larry Saryer (class of 1959) announced that there were 17 applicants that were awarded $1,000 Alumni Scholarships for the Fall 2025 term. Among the recipients are as follows: Arlyana Blackwell (2024) Texas A&M-Kingsville; Daryn Bryan (2021) Coastal Bend College; Jaiden Garcia (2023) Victoria College; Nevaeh Garcia (2024) Victoria College; Michelle Stehle (1995) Victoria College; Jessica Knetig (2022) Schreiner University; Kristiana Lopez 2024) Abilene Christine University; Emagen Styra (2022) Texas Lutheran University; Savannah Tambunga (2023) Costal Bend College; Kyndit Villarreal (2024) Texas Tech University; Nicholas Villauneva (2019) University of Houston-Victoria; Braylon Williams (2022) McMurray University; Danielle Wilson (2022) Texas A&M-Kingsville; Haley Wilson (2018) Texas Women’s University; Annalysa Camacho )2016) iTeach; and Crystal Eichhorn (1994) iTeach.
