The League of Women Voters of South Central Texas which includes De-Witt County will recognize Women’s History Month by sponsoring the Women Making History event on Sunday, March 8, 2025. The League will celebrate Texas women in two exciting ways.
This year, students must write about a heroic Texas woman, either now living or passed on. The woman must come from or have strong ties to, our League’s 5-county area.
Student submissions are now open, and the guidelines are attached and available online at https://www.lwvso uthcentraltx. org/content. aspx?page_id=2 2&club_id=735665& module_id=645724.
Students will name the teacher or counselor who encouraged them to submit. The top three students’ teacher or counselor will receive a $100 honorarium to recognize the extra work of helping students with outside activities.
