Cuero Regional Hospital proudly welcomed the first baby of 2026, marking a joyful milestone for the hospital, the family, and the entire community.
Cameron Dallas Ybarbo was born on Jan. 7, at 8:26am, weighing 8 pounds and 5 ounces and measuring 20.5 inches long, to proud parents Sebastian and Kasey Ybarbo. The delivery took place at Cuero Regional Hospital under the care of Dr. Angela Watts-Powell, supported by the hospital’s skilled labor and delivery team.
“Welcoming the first baby of the year is always a special moment,” said Dr. Watts-Powell.
“This delivery was a wonderful reminder of why providing high-quality maternity care close to home matters. It was an honor to care for this family and to help bring their baby safely into the world right here in our community.”
Cuero Regional Hospital remains committed to providing safe, compassionate, and high-quality obstetric care, allowing families to experience one of life’s most meaningful moments without having to leave Cuero.
To celebrate the first baby of the year, the newborn and family received newborn equipment, diapers, wipes, and a large gift basket filled with essential newborn supplies, generously donated by Cuero Regional Hospital employees. In addition, the Heirloom Stitchers Guild of Cuero donated beautifully handmade baby quilts, newborn clothing, diapers, and baby essentials to last well into the first few months, adding a personal and heartfelt touch to the celebration.
“This moment reflects the strength of our community,” said Bobbi Davis, RN, Childbirth Center Director at Cuero Regional Hospital.
“From our dedicated care teams to our generous employees and community partners, this is what local healthcare is all about—supporting families from the very beginning.”
Cuero Regional Hospital is proud to continue delivering babies in Cuero and support families with personalized care, close-to-home convenience, and a deep commitment to community wellness.
