A wonderous time at Christmas in Downtown Cuero

RecordTown

Thank you to all who came out to experience Cuero Main Street’s 13th Annual Christmas in Downtown Cuero event!

Visitors got to experience a wondrous holiday spectacle, featuring a 30-foot Christmas tree adorned with twinkling lights and the timeless charm of an old-fashioned carousel, which guaranteed smiles and joy for all. We discovered the beauty of the holiday season with festive decorations, an ice skating rink, adorned storefronts, and the charming and beloved Historical Pharmacy and Medical Museum, all creating an unforgettable experience in Downtown Cuero.

From the return of favorites like the Petting Zoo and Horse Drawn Carriage Rides, to many other delightful attractions, there was something special for everyone at the Christmas in Downtown Cuero celebration. Santa’s Little Entrepreneurs’ Market, created by Main Street Advisory Board member Jeanette Rocha, truly inspired future business owners.

”The annual Holiday Festival in Historic Downtown Cuero is an enchanting experience,” shared Sandra Osman, Cuero Main Street Director. “Year after year, visitors from near and far gather to take part in this festive holiday event. Witnessing the streets of Downtown Cuero bustling with excited children and their families, taking in the wonderment of the Christmas season, is an absolute delight.”

“The local shops and Christmas Market, filled with unique gift ideas and decorations, was ideal for shoppers this holiday season. We even had a few pop-up shops that were a hit”. She emphasized the event’s live entertainment; ensuring attendees could immerse themselves in the holiday spirit with outstanding performances by the Cuero JR School Choir, Christa Leigh’s School of Dance, Cuero HS Band, The True Meaning of Christmas, by United Cuero, and music by the Drew Oliver Band and Stephanie & the Southern Drive Band.

The entertainment stage featured talent from local schools and organizations for attendees to watch and enjoy throughout the two-day event. Santa and the Grinch made appearances all weekend long and Olaf entertained the littles in the 5D Tavern. Plus, the Horse and Carriage rides in front of the decorated Historical Courthouse are always a special experience,” said Osman.

Hosted by Cuero Main Street, along with the support of dedicated sponsors and community volunteers, sponsors, the festival offers returning old and new favorites. As an enchanting and exhilarating holiday gathering for families, Christmas in Downtown Cuero attracts over 5,000 visitors each year and continues to grow. Since 2013, winning 2020’s Best of the Best Victoria Advocate and Best Promotional event in 2021 from the Texas Downtown Association, this festive tradition has turned Downtown Cuero into a joyous holiday wonderland, promised to inspire magic and joy throughout the season.
