The Texas Association of School Boards is once again partnering with Texas school districts to celebrate the essential work of locally elected trustees during School Board Recognition Month.
Throughout January, Texans are encouraged to recognize their local school board members through social media posts and community celebrations.
The 2026 theme, Our Future Is Public, emphasizes the critical role school board members play in shaping the future of our state. This theme is part of a yearround campaign of the same name designed to amplify the success stories happening in public schools across Texas. TASB Executive Director Dan Troxell highlighted the importance of this month-long observance in showcasing the leadership and care provided by school board members to Texas’ 5.5 million public schoolchildren.
