RWOYA Meeting

Republican Women of Yoakum Area will hold a business meeting lunch Wednesday, Jan. 14,, 11:30 a.m. There will be no speaker. It is the first meeting of the group’s 60th year. For meeting information call Cheryl Wilson at 713-516-8880.

CRH Blood Drive Cuero Regional Hospital will host a blood drive for the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center in the Education Classroom on Thursday, Jan. 15 from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm. Anyone who is 16 years old weighing 120 pounds (with parental consent form), or at least 17 years old weighing 110 pounds, and in good general health can donate blood. Wayne’s World Wayne’s World is on display through Jan. 17 at the Cuero Heritage Museum.

It’s a Wonderful Life Who doesn’t love the movie, It’s a Wonderful Life? During the Christmas holidays, the Pharmacy and Medical Museum of Texas is paying tribute to this iconic movie by creating a tour of the museum that corresponds to scenes from the film. It will be on dis- play until Jan. 17.

DeWitt County GOP Meeting

The DeWitt County GOP will meet at the GVEC Community Room in Cuero Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 6 p.m.

The Eagles Ultimate Experience

The Victoria Symphony Orchestra is thrilled to announce an unforgettable night of classic rock and symphonic brilliance with The Eagles Ultimate Experience, performed in collaboration with 7 Bridges: the nation’s premier Eagles tribute ensemble. It will take place Jan. 24, at 7:30 p.m. at the Victoria Fine Arts Center as part of the Symphony’s Concert Series.

Catholic Daughter Scholarships

The Catholic Daughters #347 of St Michael’s are offering two $1,000 scholarships for two Cuero High Catholic seniors of Cuero St.

Michael’s, OLG and Meyersville Catholic churches. Also, the Catholic Daughters have a state scholarship available. Applications are available at the Cuero High School counselor’s office.

The state scholarship application is due Jan. 26 and local scholarships are due to St. Michael’s Church office by May 1, Applications should be filled out completely and all signatures filled in.

TarmackTake Over Day

The streets meet the strip at Tarmac Takeover 2026, two days of free horse power, competition, and family friendly fun to spectators at Cuero Municipal Airport Friday and Saturday, Jan. 30-31. Grab some eats from food trucks, shop local vendors and experience the best builds iin the Crossroads.

Camp Connect

Camp Connect, a mallwide event that brings local summer camps and families together to kick off planning fora fun and enriching summer, will take place at Victoria Mall March 7. It is designed to help families explore camp options while giving local programs a chance to connect directly with the community. Families can browse a variety of camp programs throughout the mall, from sports and arts and crafts to educational and enrichment experiences. The event creates an easy, interactive way for parents and kids to meet camp staff, ask questions, and discover new opportunities for the summer ahead.

Dowtown Cuero Main Street will host a citywide garage sale Saturday and Sunday, March 13-14. Residents will conduct garage sales at their homes, and there will be individuals selling Under the Library Pavilion on Saturday, March 13, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. City permits are waived forthe event, and it will not count against the number of garage sales allowed per year. Shiner Heritage Quilters ‘Spring into Quilting' Calling all quilters. Shiner Heritage Quilters invites you to participate in the 2026 show, “Spring into Quilting” scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 20-21,

Library/Crown Hospice Senior Social Hour Crown Hospice is holding a Senior Social Hour at the Yorktown Public Library on the 1st Monday of every month. Cuero VFW Post 3972 has resumed weekly games of Bingo at the Post Home. Games will begin at 7:30 p.m. Proceeds of these games benefit local charities, youth, and veterans in need. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Child Find Evaluations

School Districts must ensure that a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) is provided for children who are identified as needing special education and related services. Child Find is a process to identify, locate and evaluate individuals from birth to 21 years of age who may need special education and related services. Evaluations for Cuero, Meyersville, Nursery and Westhoff ISD are available through Child Find. Early childhood intervention programs serve children with developmental delays and their families. Eligibility is determined through a team assessment by program staff. Please call Crystal Hamilton at 361-2751903 to schedule an appointment.

Child Screening Services Residents of Yorktown, are you aware of a child with problems walking, seeing, moving or thinking? Free screening services are available for children from birth through five years of age. Call 361-564-2252 ext. 3002 for an appointment. Screening will be held at Yorktown Elementary School.

Meals on Wheels Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed to help deliver meals in the central DeWitt County area for Meals on Wheels South Texas. Meals are delivered once a week on Wednesdays from about 11 a.m. to noon.
