Engines roared and tires smoked as the Tarmac Takeover Dyno Day and No Prep Race rolled into DeWitt County on January 30–31, bringing competitors and spectators together for a weekend of high-octane action. The event, hosted by Wamsley Performance, was described by owners Allyson and Jeremy Wamsley as a “sponsor-driven event.” “Our sponsors are what allows us to keep the event free for the spectators,” the Wamsleys said.

Festivities began Friday with Dyno Day at Cuero Municipal Park, where diesel and gas competitors tested their vehicles’ horsepower and torque on the dynamometer. On Saturday, the action shifted to the runway at Cuero Municipal Airport for the No Prep Race and Show N Shine. Racers competed for cash payouts, awards and bragging rights, while food trucks and vendors helped create a festival-like atmosphere for attendees.
