A Spectrum internet outage on August 28 held up residents and businesses from completing transactions for most of the business day. E-mails, purchases and even phones were affected. The digital version of The Cuero Record and Yorktown News-View was delayed as well.
A technology spokesman for Spectrum said the outage was classified as a “commercial power outage,” indicating that a local electric company lost power. However, electricity in Cuero had not outage.
“Multiple cities were affected,” Cuero City Manager Wayne Berger said. “It had to be a distribution hub for them. Cuero’s electricity had nothing to do with it.”
