The Yorktown High School FFA Tractor Tech team has qualified for the state contest after placing second at the Area XI Tractor Tech Contest, earning a spot at the state competition scheduled for March in Houston.
The team, made up of students Andrew, Brock and Kylan, competed this week and secured the program’s first-ever state qualification in Tractor Tech, marking a milestone in Yorktown FFA history.
According to Yorktown ISD, the team set a goal last year to advance to the state level and achieved it through months of preparation and practice. The team is coached by Ms. Alatorre.
The Tractor Tech competition tests students’ knowledge and skills related to agricultural mechanics and equipment, and advancing to the state level represents a significant achievement for the program.
