GOD first...Heavenly Father, We wish to pray a message to any person that is in need of support that will read this article: Believe in Jesus. He died in order to save us from our sins. Pray to Him as you would pray for your most treasured gift. Allow Him into your heart and soul. Whatever your prayer, if it be the will of His Father, your prayer will be answered in due time. Amen.
Pray for those who are grieving, ill, suffering, or are in harm's way.
A woman went to the doctor and asked, 'Doctor, do I have the Asian flu?'
The doctor said, 'No, you have the Egyptian flu.'
She asked, 'What is that?'
Doctor said, 'You're going to become a mummy.'
Forgot to mention the Nordheim Museum in last week's article. Although there isn't a regular time to visit, anyone can come and visit. To visit anytime, call Roberta Hale or Gilbert Pargmann as both are retired and have keys to get in. Just call and make an appointment for just about any time you wish to visit. The museum has air conditioning to keep records and displays cool. The building has been freshly painted and contains a lot of memorabilia and pictures from the past. The members of the community of Nordheim have worked hard to make a visit to the museum a great experience. There are regular times of visiting as well as fund raisers during Nordheim Volunteer Fire Department fundraising days.
The Nordheim Educational Foundation, which supports NISD students and teachers, has a goal of $500,000 with half already contributed. It provides scholarships for each graduating student of Nordheim High School and has helped to fund first years enrollment to a college with 13 students so far. All this has been given from persons to keep our school one of the greatest places to have an education. Included in that is in the support of teachers, such as a new welding machine and other items requested by teachers in the administration. All contributions are tax free. Most of the contributions have come from local Nordheim individuals who are proud to serve our Foundation to be one of the best around. If you are a student in our district or near, it will serve you well to keep your education complete and secure in graduating here regardless of race or creed.
One of our leaders in the purpose of helping students has been the effort of an individual, Larry Salyer, who has been a great influence in Cross Country Training for students. He has provided for many years a trail that is 3.1 miles long for coaches to train students of all ages. Sometimes even providing transportation to and from several meets throughout the years with some of the students going to State Meets. HIs attention to detail in maintaining the trail is more in keeping it truly a cross country experience. His ranch is about 5 miles south of Nordheim and provides one of the most ideal places to get students in shape for meets to come. It's one of the loves he has for helping our community and school. That's our story and we are glad to also support it. See you next week.
