It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Taylor Rose, who left us far too soon at the age of 9. Born with Rett syndrome, she faced many challenges with a courage and resilience that inspired everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Taylor had a pure and gentle spirit that touched the lives of everyone around her.
Despite her condition, she lived every day with a smile that could light up any room and a laugh that was utterly contagious. Her greatest joy came from music and movies; nothing brought her more happiness than listening to her favorite songs and watching her beloved films. She had a remarkable way of expressing joy through her eyes and her beautiful, infectious laughter whenever her favorite scenes played.
She cherished time spent with family and especially her wonderful teacher, Ms. Jackie.
Her days were filled with love, cuddles and countless movie marathons. Her love for music was boundless, often swaying to the rhythm, her spirit dancing along with the melodies. Whether it was a classic Disney film or a catchy tune, Taylor’s happiness was evident to all. She had a knack for making even the smallest moments magical, and her joyful spirit brought out the best in everyone she met.
Taylor Rose is survived by her loving parents, Bradley and Amie Gettel; her devoted siblings, Big brother, Jaxon and little sister, Ryleigh, who will forever hold her in their hearts. She also leaves behind her grandparents; Dennis and Pamala Schmidt and Kevin and Brinda Gettel as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends who were touched by her light.
Though her time with us was brief, Taylor taught us the true meaning of unconditional love, perseverance and joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was a precious gift, and her memory will continue to inspire us all to live with the same love and happiness she radiated every day.
A celebration of life for Taylor Rose will be held at a later date and time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to the International Rett Syndrome Foundation to support other children and families affected by this condition.
Taylor Rose, you will forever be in our hearts. We will miss your laughter, your love and your incredible spirit. May you rest in peace, sweet angel, and may your soul forever dance to the music you so dearly loved.
