The DeWitt County Commissioners Court approved a 90-day burn ban at the regular Feb. 23 meeting.
Dry and windy conditions across the state that led to wildfires in the Panhandle. A recent fire in DeWitt County burned almost 100 acres. Burn bans have been in place for several months locally.
In other action, the court:
• approved 35 mph speed limits signs being placed on Mueller Lang Road.
• approved the removal of two cattle guards on Mueller Lang Road.
• proclaimed Feb. 28 through March 6 as DeWitt County Youth Livestock kShow Week.
• appointed Clint Dillion and Susana Weber to the DeWit County Historical Comission for the term of service ending 2027.
• approved Paymentech LLC for payment processing services.
• approved Tyler Technologies for efile and serve software.
• accepted construction drawing plans for the Alamo Letter monument to be installed at the courthouse.
• approved a maintenance service request for Woodman Cemetery made by the Texas Historical Commission.
• approved a proposal from Clifford Power Systems for generator maintenance in the DeWitt County 2021 Annex.
• approved temporary right of way application for water lines on Gruenau and Metting Roads, Gus Meyer and Gruenau Roads, Hahn Road and Jaeger Road.
