The Yorktown Kitty Kats turned in a strong performance at their home tournament, finishing second as a team.
Leading the way was Evelyn Merks, who shot an impressive 83 to earn firstplace medalist honors. Taylor Gips and McKinley Rogers each posted rounds of 110, while Kaylee Coleman finished with a 114 and Brynnley Laake carded a 124 to round out the team scoring.
The strong finish follows another solid showing the previous week at the tournament in Yoakum, where the Kitty Kats placed third as a team. In that outing, Merks led again with a 103. Rogers shot a 110, Gips added a 115, Coleman finished with a 123, and Laake posted a 126.
With consistent contributions across the lineup and strong leadership from Merks, the Kitty Kats continue to show growth and determination early in the season.
