GOD first...Heavenly Father, so many times we are surprised and amazed at the blessings and we receive through Your Grace. Some people can look all around and not see because they cannot see or because they don’t want to see. They are blinded by the way they perceive things. Sometimes, they are so involved in their own little world, they overlook the most obvious little things and some of the great things we all receive and are blessed with each and every day. Help us to show them the beautiful things that are taken for granted while we all see the wonderful awakening of Spring at the rebirth of the beauty You provide for each and every one to witness. We pray in the name of our dear Savior Jesus Christ. Amen. Pray for those who are ill, suffering, grieving, or are in harm’s way.
Joke: A man told his barber, “Don’t put any of that sweet smelling stuff on me. My wife will think I’ve been in a house of ill repute.” Another man in a nearby chair says, “You can put as much as you want on me. My wife has never been to such a place.”
Another one: A teacher was asking her class, “How many of you want to go to heaven?” All but one raised their hands. He said, “I can’t. I have to go home right after school.” Third one: A teary-eyed young boy ran up to the teacher crying, “I just found out I have to stay in school until I’m 18.” The teacher replied, “That’s not a problem. I have to stay until I’m 65!
The Nordheim Museum will be open on Saturday, March 14, from 10 p.m. until 1 p.m. The museum members have been very active in arranging different displays and sprucing up the interior. I will be donating a reader of 50mm film of years past sometime soon. Bruce Morrise had all the issues photographed many years ago. There still are copies that are available to scan. There were 3 entire duplicates made. One went to the archives in Austin, one went to Victoria Musuem, and the other is partial with me, and Cathy Humphry has the other.
Did you go to church Sunday only to find out that time changed?
Koffee Klatch was held this past Thursday with 15 people attending. We heard that Margie Bolting is out of the hospital and now is in the Cuero Rehab behind the Cuero Hospital. That was the latest news from Georgie Fae. There are three that we know of that are in the facilities in the rehab Center next to the Ford Motor Co. in Cuero. Dalton Metting, Kermit Koehler, and Norlene Ckodre. If you get a chance to visit them, I know they will appreciate it. Gilda Mae Rogge is in the Yorktown facility with her son, Craig, who watches over her there. We hear that Brandy Short of Nordheim came home from the Austin Hospital after open heart surgery that was a complete success. She is the daughter of Gary and Bettie Stehling.
The Nordheim Fire Department membership drive was a success as there were over 300 meal tickets sold by last week. The paper bag raffle and Bingo was enjoyed by all those who came and stayed for the benefit of the Fire Department. A big thank you to all.
From the Years Past 25 years ago: Bernice Wagner has informed the Lutheran Church that she will resign from playing the organ after some 30 years. She seldom missed a Sunday. Also, Hella Magee is also resigning as she took care of the church grounds, parish hall and cleaning of the church for 30 years. She was also involved in the church council for many years and she and Bernice will have a well-deserved rest after dedicating all those years to service. See you next week.
