Hello All I attended the ribbon cutting to the new splash pad at Alexander Park this past Thursday, Sept 5th. It was so refreshing to see the smiles and hear the laughs of joy coming from the children enjoying getting wet and cooling off from the summer heat. The event was well attended, including members of the Cuero City Council, the City Manager, Park superintendent, the Chamber of Commerce, the Cuero Development Corporation and the former Mayor, Sarah Post Meyer to name a few.
I met with Mayor Crocker, the Victoria Mayor, and his Special Projects representative concerning the Mayor's Youth Council that I would like to initiate here in Cuero. The meeting was very productive, and I feel we are close to establishing a youth council in Cuero soon.
I have been asked about the Utility rate increases the Council is considering. The cost of getting water and electricity to your home has gone up in price. We either start slowly to keep up with prices or have a huge increase all at once in the future. The Ruby Community Pancake Breakfast is slowly approaching, Saturday Sept. 28 at 8:00 am in the downtown walkway: free pancakes while they last so come early and while downtown. Please go by the downtown Market Days booths under the library pavilion on the same day.
