DeWitt County has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its Annual Comprehensive Finan- cial Report (ACFR) for the fiscal year ended September 30.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting. The report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the program’s high standards, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate the county’s financial position.

This marks the 47th consecutive year DeWitt County has received the prestigious award, reflecting the county’s continued commitment to transparency and excellence in financial reporting.

When a government receives the Certificate of Achievement, the GFOA also presents an Award of Financial Reporting Achievement to the individual or department primarily responsible for preparing the report. This award recognizes the efforts of the De Witt County Auditor’s Office for its role in preparing the county’s ACFR.
