Yorktown Independent School District welcomed a special international guest when the AllDęte Brass Band performed three mini-concerts for students across the district March 10.
The visiting Polish ensemble entertained audiences in separate performances for elementary (K–5), middle school (6–8), and high school (9–12) students.
The band was accompanied by Alice Poore, director of the Polish Heritage Center, who helped coordinate the visit. During their time in Yorktown, the musicians also toured the school campus, enjoyed lunch at the 5D Steakhouse, and visited the town’s his- toric Yorktown Memorial Hospital.
Founded in 2018 by brothers Wiktor Wojsyk and Jakub Wojsyk, AllDęte Brass Band features nine musicians known for blending raw energy with musical precision. Their performances combine traditional brass sounds with a modern interpretation of classic pieces. Since its founding, the group has toured extensively throughout Europe and internationally, collaborated with leading Polish artists, and released two albums of original music.
Students throughout the district responded enthusiastically to the performances. Several Yorktown High School juniors shared their impressions of the band. Tabitha Hernandez noted that the musicians were “very engaging with the audience, but not in an overbearing way.” Kayley Coultas described the performance as having “really good vibes” and praised the band’s energy. Kason Sullivan added that he “liked it and thought it was very entertaining and cool.”
Prior to their Yorktown appearance, the band performed in several cities across the United States, including Chicago, San Antonio, Houston, and Austin, as well as in the historic Polish- American communities of Panna Maria and Falls City. The group will next travel to Long Island for another performance before returning home to Poland.
The visit provided Yorktown students with a rare opportunity to experience international music and culture firsthand, adding an energetic and memorable moment to the school year.
