For 116 years, the Cuero Chamber of Commerce has proudly celebrated the businesses, leaders, and citizens who shape our community—and this year’s Annual Membership Social and Awards Banquet was no exception.

“As we celebrate 116 years of the Cuero Chamber of Commerce, we are reminded that our greatest strength has always been our people,” said Executive Director Angie Cuellar. “From our businesses and volunteers to our partners and leaders, it takes all of us working together to move Cuero forward. We are not just honoring success—we are building a legacy for future generations, and together, we will continue to keep Cuero strong.”

Held under the theme “Honoring Small Business Superheroes & Shining Stars,” the evening brought together a full house to recognize the individuals and organizations whose dedication keeps Cuero strong, vibrant, and growing. From the moment guests arrived, the atmosphere reflected both celebration and gratitude for the people who serve as the backbone of our local economy and community.

The Chamber extends its sincere appreciation to presenting and event sponsors Devon Energy, Cadence Bank, and GVEC, along with our Gold members Cuero Regional Hospital & Thrive Fuel Marketing, all table sponsors and participants who brought creativity and energy through their decorated tables.

The evening was made possible through the support of many outstanding partners. Guests enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by S&J Catering, along with desserts by Mad Batter Cheesecakes. Elegant floral arrangements were provided by Ryan’s on Main, and a special thank you goes to The Venue on Church Street for graciously hosting the event. Festive balloon décor by Balloon People of Texas and refreshing spirits from 5D added to the celebratory ambiance, while A Special Stitch created beautifully crafted awards for the evening’s honorees.

The program was led by emcees Chamber Board President Jon Eric Rodriguez and co-host Brian Cromeens, who guided the evening with energy and professionalism. Entertainment was provided by DJ Shane with Shane & Renee Wilke Total Entertainment, and the National Anthem was beautifully performed by Landri Dyer.

The Chamber was honored to welcome distinguished guests, including Texas House District 30 Representative AJ Louderback, Christian Palacious from Congressman Michael Cloud’s office, and Kim Moore from Senator Lois Kolkhorst’s office, all of whom continue to show strong support for our community.

A highlight of the evening was the recognition of award recipients. The Victoria College Education Foundation received the Best Decorated Table award. Citizen of Tomorrow nominees included Cole Moore and Kirsten Trevino, with Landri Dyer named the recipient. Cuero Young Ambassador Scholarships were awarded to Tanner Lucas and Julian Henson.

The World Series of Cuero Last Business Standing award was presented to Adam Arroyo representing Cuero Lube & Tire. The Business Beautification Award was awarded to Keep Cuero Beautiful for their continued efforts, including planting over 120 trees in the community. Ancira Partners Chevrolet GMC was named Business of the Year, and Tri-City Empowerment Council received Nonprofit of the Year. The Agriculture Achievement Award was presented to Mitchell Hartman, while the prestigious Larry Carter Citizen of the Year Award was awarded to Bill Hickey.

The Chamber also recognized outgoing board members Courtney Ybarra (7 years of service), Willis Braden (6 years), and Katelynn Meissen (2 years) for their commitment and leadership.

The 2026 Board of Directors was introduced, led by President Jon Eric Rodriguez (Weber Motor Company), Vice President Rhonda Stastny (City of Cuero), Secretary Suzy Adams (City of Cuero), Treasurer Alma Alexander (Cuero Regional Hospital), and Past President Cecilia Hedrick (Be. Boutique), along with board members Mariah Berger, Brian Cromeens (District Attorney), Caden Jander (Ful-O-Pep), Ashley McDonald (Trust Texas Bank), Edward Oakes (Cuero Lube & Tire), Matt Thigpen (Band X Real Estate), Sonya Timpone (Thrive Fuel Marketing), and Terri Warwas (Bud & Sissy’s Liquor & Gifts).

The Chamber extends heartfelt thanks to its Board of Directors, Ambassadors— Amber Caka, Maggie Cromeens, Darlene Carroll, Roslyn Faust, Niki Lantz, Annette Rath, Vickie Romero, Samantha Solis, and Renee Wilke— and Administrative Assistant Sara Blain for their dedication and behind-the-scenes work that made the evening a success. Special appreciation is also extended to the Cuero High School Anchor Club for their assistance with meal service, exemplifying the spirit of service among Cuero’s youth.

Photo coverage of the evening was beautifully captured by Maegan Martin of Moments X Mae Photography, with additional coverage provided by The Cuero Record.

An update was also shared during the program ontheChamber’s exciting new building renovation project and ongoing capital campaign. Community members are encouraged to learn more and support the effort at cuerolegacy.org, as the Chamber continues working to create a lasting space that will serve as both a visitor center and hub for business growth.
