David “Colton” Rogers, son of Forrest and Chelsea Rogers, is a distinguished senior at Yorktown High School who exemplifies academic excellence, leadership, athletic achievement, and commitment to his community. Known for his kindness, respectfulness, and genuine care for others, Colton consistently demonstrates strong character and integrity in all that he does. His positive attitude and willingness to support those around him make him a respected leader among his peers and teachers. Colton has been accepted to and will attend Baylor University after graduation, where he plans to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Sciences with a concentration in Professional Pilot– Airplane. With a passion for aviation and a strong sense of discipline and leadership, Colton aspires to become an airline captain for a major airline. He looks forward to combining his love for flying with a lifelong commitment to excellence, leadership, and service to others.
Colton has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to learning while embracing a wide range of extracurricular opportunities. His academic discipline and intellectual curiosity have allowed him to thrive in a rigorous course load, earning A Honor Roll recognition and induction into the National HonorSociety.Colton has further distinguished himself by completing 24 college credit hours prior to graduation, through Baylor University and Victoria College, with additional college coursework in progress. Balancing collegiate-level coursework with a demanding high school schedule reflects his maturity, time management skills, and dedication to preparing for future academic success.
Athletics have been a central and formative part of Colton’s high school experience. A three-sport varsity athlete in football, baseball, and golf, he has consistently demonstrated leadership, resilience, and competitive excellence. In baseball, he earned 1st Team All-District honors during both his sophomore and junior years and hopes to earn this honor his senior year, along with Academic All-District recognition. On the football field, he was named 1st Team All-District as a senior and 2nd Team All-District as a junior, while also receiving Academic All-District honors in consecutive seasons and 2nd Team Academic All-State recognition his senior year. In golf, Colton contributed to a District Championship team and qualified for regional competition in multiple seasons. Beyond school athletics, he also qualified as a State competitor in Team Roping through TYRA, showcasing his versatility and dedication outside of school.
