The Yorktown Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture, formed in 1918, is a voluntary non-profit organization of citizens who are investing their time and money in a community development program, specifically working together to improve the quality of life. The Yorktown Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture provides a medium through which people can take effective action for the progress of the community . It helps create job opportunities through stimulation of industrial, commercial and retail growth. It seeks the improvement of community facilities. It brings tour groups, meetings and gatherings to the City of Yorktown. It gathers statistics; prints informative brochures; visits new businesses; answers inquiries; and promotes Yorktown through numerous avenues and at various events.It also provides youth scholarships for Yorktown’s Royalty Court (youth ambassadors and community representatives). It produces numerous community oriented events and contributes to the community’s general welfare. Presently, the organization is composed of approximately 100 members working for the good of the community The Yorktown Chamber of Commerce is the largest non-profit group in Yorktown. Any citizen of Texas who is interested in helping to develop the area (which means more money, more business, more jobs and better living for everyone) is eligible to be a member of the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture, Inc. The membership dues structure is designed to permit every business or individual to be a member. The Yorktown Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture, Inc. is composed of you (the membership), Committee Workers, Directors and Executive Officers who serve on a voluntary basis. You are the chamber of commerce. Without you, there would not be a chamber of Commerce. You provide the ideas, the drive, the goals, the funds and the voluntary services to keep the Chamber doing what it so proudly does. The work of the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce is financed by the investment of the members who support it and special events.
