Keep Cuero Beautiful members will host a dedication of a memorial bench recognizing member Emily Davis’ 15 years of service Thursday, April 9, at 10:30 a.m.
Emily passed away in August 2025. At the time of her passing, Davis was recognized by the Cuero Chamber of Commerce as “a shining example of service and generosity, giving her time and talents to many organizations throughout Cuero.”
The dedication will take place along MLK Dr where the new landscaping is located.
Emily walked twice daily with her dog, Max, along the walking trail so KCB decided to place her bench there to remember her.
By working with City Parks Dept Superintendent David Danish and his crew, the beautification project became a reality.
In addition KCB will dedicate a second bench recognizing the HEB/ Trees for Texans grant which funded the landscaping.
KCB is also hosting the Keep Texas Beautiful “Don’t Mess with Texas” highway cleanup Saturday, April 11.
Citizens are encouraged to form teams to help clean-up litter along the area highways. Those participating should meet at the Market Pavilion at 8:30 a.m. to get assignments and supplies for the cleanup.
Teams should meet at the City Recycling Center by 11 a.m. to weigh litter collected. The top three teams in weight of litter will receive $100 to pay forward to each winning team’s nonprofit.
Call Cuero Chamber 361-275-2112 to register for the DMWT cleanup.
