Over the past few weeks, the Yorktown High School Kitty Kat and Wildcat track participated in a couple of track meets, as they get ready for the District 31-2A Track Meet in Kenedy, Texas, on April 9.
Last week on March 26, Yorktown participated in the Karnes County Invitational Track Meet in Kenedy. Here are the medalists: Varsity Girls: Paige Deleon - 4x400m Relay (1st); Trinity Flores - Triple Jump (1st), Long Jump (1st), 4x400m Relay (1st); Palyn Koopmann - 4x400m Relay (1st), 100m Hurdles (2nd), 300m Hurdles (2nd); Claire Person 4x400m Relay (1st), Triple Jump (3rd).
JV Girls: Diana Mockova - 800m Run (3rd).
Varsity Boys: Devon Campbell - 4x400m Relay (3rd); Brayden Knostman - 4x400m Relay (3rd); Ryan Knostman - Shot Put (1st), Discus (1st); Aaron Luke - Pole Vault (1st); Kylan Resondek - 110m Hurdles (1st), 300m Hurdles (1st), 4x400m Relay (3rd); Jordan Rios - Shot Put (3rd); Clayton Schendel 4x400m Relay (3rd) Randen Zuniga - High Jump (3rd).
JV Boys: Darrell Spell - Shot Put (3rd).
Over spring break, on March 21, 2026, a few of the tracksters participated in the Johnny Proffitt Relay in Pettus, Texas, with the following results: Varsity Girls: Trinity Flores - 400m Dash (1st), Triple Jump (1st), Long Jump (1st); Palyn Koopmann - 300m Hurdles (1st), 100m Dash (1st), 100m Hurdles (2nd); Vivian Romans - 800m Run (6th).
Varsity Boys: Brayden Knostman - 100m Dash (5th); Ryan Knostman Discus (1st), Shot Put (1st); Kylan Respondek - 300m Hurdles (1st), 110m Hurdles (2nd); Clayton Schendel - 400m Dash (3rd Place).
