GOD first...Heavenly Father, if only we could walk in someone else's shoes, perhaps we could understand what they are experiencing and what they are about. So many times we are so involved with our own concerns and problems, we fail to see the other side of the story. When our friends are troubled, help us to be there for them. Not only to console them, but to be able to contribute in some way. A lot of times we want to help in any way we can, but we are not able to because we don't know what to do. Lord, help us to be there to help if we can with the right understanding and love. In Jesus name we pray. Lord, we are going in Your way. Pray for those who are grieving, ill, suffering, or are in harm’s way

I know of an old man who goes horseback riding every day of the year except for the month of June. That's when the man who puts him on the horse goes on vacation.
On a recent flight on Low-Cost Airlines, three engines went out. Wearing a parachute, the pilot appeared in front of the passengers and announced. 'We've got a lot of problems, but don't worry — I'm going after help!'
Saturday, April 4, will be a busy time at Jubilee Park in Nordheim. The Easter Bunny will be busy hiding hundreds of eggs in every nook and cranny. Registration for the Easter Egg Hunt begins at 9:30 a.m., and the hunt begins at 10 a.m. Only those registered ahead of time will be allowed to hunt. Children Pre-K thru 4th grade will be allowed first. Children from 5th grade to 13 years old can register for door prizes to be hunted. Door prizes will be handed out after the hunt and prizes can be redeemed for goodies. The Garden Club will be having a plant and bake sale beginning at 9 a.m. in the park at the same time. There will also be a brown bag raffle that will remain open until 1 p.m. at which time tickets will be drawn. You do not need to be present to win. St. Paul Lutheran Church will be having Sunrise Services at the Jubilee Park on Sunday, April 5, starting at 7 a.m. All denominations are welcome. The services will be led by Pastor Christine Kichner. Following the service, there will be a breakfast at the Parish Hall, and all are welcome.
Kaffee Klatch was a little more exciting this past week as we had an unexpected visitor, our old friend, Earnie Stirl of Smiliey showed up. What a great surprise! Larry met him at the Yorktown Track Meet last week and invited him to come and now an old former Nordheimer is the main star of our group. Ernie, and sister Lynette, are trumpet players and appeared with our band here in Nordheim in our heyday. They also play for other bands, such as the New Braunfels Village Band, and other bands in our South Texas Region. As other members of our Klatch arrived, there was a reunion of sorts as most everybody already knew of the Stirl family. So much history of people we knew was revived and new/old stories of the past was confirmed again and again. Fifteen regulars showed up and were glad to be at this week’s meeting to meet an old friend. After graduation, Ernie became a pharmacist and eventually owned Nixon Drug Store in Nixon with his wife for many years. After her passing, Ernie sold the business and retired. With the love of music, and many stories of life, you can bet he has a mountain of information stored up in his head. By 10 a.m., everybody showed up and there were at least three or four conversations going on at one time. Some stayed as long as 11 a.m. I didn't stay that long as my easy chair was calling really loud and somebody had to close the place down.
As Spring Break comes to an end, there were rumors going on about people moving in, places being up for sale, and maybe a business being purchased. So many things going on because spring brings on new progressive ideas and information . Just have to wait and see. Hope is still alive here in Nordheim. See you next week.
