DeWitt County Judge Daryl L. Fowler rescinded the outdoor burning ban in unincorporated areas April 20.
The ban, which was ordered Feb. 23, was rescinded because the conditions that warranted it have improved, the judge’s order said.
Although DeWitt County is an area covered by a drought disaster order by Gov. Abbott, burn bans can be lifted when immediate wildfire hazards decrease, typically due to recent rain, reduced droughtstressed vegetation, or improved weather conditions, according to the Texas Association of Counties.
