Cuero residents Jeff McMahan, owner of McMahan Services, and Denise McMahan, assistant administrator at Cuero Regional Hospital, won the Chub Cay Bahamas 2026 Invitational on their boat “No Le Hace,” a 61 Spencer captained by Freddy Vicens, April 9-11. The boat team took first place, and Denise was named Top Lady Angler after releasing three sailfish and a blue marlin. The event took place during heavy winds and rough seas with some abandoning the match, but the McMahans stuck it out for the big reward, according to an article published in Marlin Magazine.
