Earth Day Plant Swap
Earth Day Celebration Wednesday, April 29, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bring a plant to swap or come to get a plant if you don’t have one. Other giveaways and gardening demonstrations, plus recycling advice. KCB Raffle will have its drawing during the Plant Swap.

There will be a car and bike show with a $500 prize for Best of Show at Cuero Municipal Park May 2, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vendors, food, People’s Choice and Bike Run to be featured.
Yorktown EMS Benefit
Saving Lives Bingo will be held at the De-Witt County Veterans Center Saturday, May 2, at 6 p.m. with doors opening at 5 p.m. The event will benefit Yorktown EMS. Pastor’s 20th Anniversary Celebration
Mt. Bethany Baptist Church will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Pastor Kelvin F. Washington’s service Sunday, May 3, at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Elwin B. Washington of Lake Charles, La. Traditional services will be at 11 a.m. 5 Pridgen St. in Cuero.

Annual Decoration Sunday Service
The Rabke United Methodist Church will hold the Annual Decoration Sunday Service on Sunday, May 3. A potluck lunch will be served on the church grounds at 12:00 noon and the church service will be held at 2:00 p.m. A short memorial service will follow at the Rabke Cemetery.

CICA Annual Fundraiser
Crossroad’s Independent Cattlemen’s Association will host its Annual Fundraiser at Club Westerner in Victoria Saturday, May 9. Trade show opens at 3:30 p.m., hamburger steak meal from 4 to 6 p.m. for $15, auction at 6:30 p.m. There will also be a country store and photos with a mini-horse and cow for kids. Monday, May 11, CRH will host a Hot Dog Picnic on the front lawn from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. *First come, first serve.* Healthcare services throughout town will participate in sharing information and fellowship with our community. Tuesday, May 12, Storytime and Ambulance tour at Cuero Municipal Library 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. along with CISD literacy program. Wednesday, May 13, Free Blood Pressure Screening and Education at Cuero Discount Pharmacy 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 14, Exercise with Dr. Gonzales at Bfit Wellness Center 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. All events are free and open to the public to participate.
Nordheim May Feast
The Nordheim Shooting Club May Feast Weekend will be May 15-17, featuring truck and tractor pulls, a chili and BBQ cookoff, craft booths, hamburgers, homemade ice cream and cold drinks. There will be a Saturday night dance with entertainment by Nathan Colt Young. A BBQ pork meal will be served for lunch Sunday, May 17, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Plates are $15 for dine-in or dineout. Cuero American Legion Post 3 is having a Memorial Day Chicken BBQ fundraiser drive-through only May 30 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 310 Esplanade in Cuero. $15 donation for one whole chicken. Tickets available at DeWitt County Coop and Anders Auto.
Early Childhood Screening
Early childhood screening for Cuero, Meyersville, Nursery, and Westhoff ISD is available through Child Find through May 31. Early childhood intervention programs serve children with developmental delays and their families. Eligibility is determined through assessment by program staff. Those who wish to have their child evaluated may contact Crystal Hamilton at (361) 275-1900 ext 121 to schedule an appointment anytime in April and May.
Search for American Revolution Descendants
Do you have an ancestor who supported the American Revolution? Help us teach our children and grandchildren their history. On July 3-4, Dewitt County Historical Commission will be celebrating America’s 250th anniversary with patriotic events honoring ancestors who supported the cause for independence. Meals on Wheels Volunteers Needed
Volunteers are needed to help deliver meals in the central DeWitt County area for Meals on Wheels South Texas. Meals are delivered once a week on Wednesdays from about 11 a.m. to noon. If you are interested in volunteering you can go to mowstx.org or email volunteer@ mowstx.org.
