Puppies don't belong in ditches

News-ViewPets

Do I look like a ditch puppy? No way Jose, I am a cute, lovable, and just need a second chance at finding my forever home.

Unfortunately I was left by the side of the road with my five siblings and our mother, who was still nursing all of us even though she was skin and bones — malnourished and desperate for clean water to drink.

I know who left us there, unprotected and at the mercy of a very rainy cold day, but why? So mean and heartless.

I hope the dumpee realizes this was not an appropriate way to unown our little family. Luckily, we were discovered and brought to Pet Adoptions of Cuero.

This independent rescue and shelter has been overwhelmed with abandoned, discarded, and stray animals plus way too many pets that are no longer wanted or cared for by their original pet parents. I'm hoping more folks will come forward to help so all the unwanted pets like me get second chances.

First priority, adopt. Second priority would be to foster. Third priority would be to volunteer. Fourth priority would be to provide funds to help cover never-ending vet bills. And the fifth priority would be to donate pet food or cleaning products.

My name is Canoli. You can meet me and my siblings at PAOC, 407 US Highway 183 South, Cuero 77954. PAOC is open every day of the year from 8 a.m. to 12 noon or call for a late afternoon adoption appointment at 361-243-8540.
