The DeWitt County Crops Committee will be hosting their annual Crops Tour on Tuesday, June 9. The program will begin at 3 p.m. at the Gruenau Hall, eight miles north of Yorktown off FM 108. Registration will be between 2 to 3 p.m. Following the tour stops, the program will conclude with supper back at the Gruenau Hall. Guest speakers include Dr. Josh Mc-Ginty, AgriLife Extension Agronomist; Stephen Biles, AgriLife Extension IPM Agent; Warner Seidel, Chief Operations Officer, Ignition Land Services; and Joseph and Tyler Respondek, De-Witt County farmers. Before the tour leaves the hall, there will be a program on “Pasture Mealybugs Overview & Update.” Tour stops include Results of 2025 Drone Huisache Spraying at the Joseph Respondek Farm; Drone Seeding Demonstration at the Joseph Respondek Farm; Cotton Variety Test Plot at the Joseph Respondek Farm; and Corn Hybrid Test Plot at the Fred and Chad Hahn Farm. The tour will proceed back to the Gruenau Hall where the day will conclude with a brief discussion on “Whitetail Deer Damage on Row Crops.” The Row Crops Tour is sponsored by Texas AgriLife Extension Service of De-Witt County, DeWitt County Crops Committee, and Yorktown Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture.
